Re: 2litre block
you would have to use 2 litre head gaskets as i would imagine the 1.8 litre has a smaller bore that the 2 litre unless the extra volume is acumilated by a longer stroke crank utulising the same sized pistons

Re: 2litre block
o ryt u will have to use the 2 litre head gasket cuz i would assume its bigger pistons that make up the extra 200cc

Re: 2litre block
yeh well al order full gasket set for the 2litre and full gasket set for the 1.8 and then we will just put stuff where it needs to be.
any other peoples imput is welcome if they can confirm this or not

Thats not a bigger capacity just a lowered compression ratio.
Re: 2litre block
a longer crankshaft stroke increases displacement aswell because if the piston is going further up and further down then at bdc ther is more area inside the cylinder but yer it does increase compression aswell which is y some stroker kits come with pistons which are slightly shorter so that they dont effect the compression or foul the valves or cylinder head

Re: 2litre block
Oh ok, well i would say head should be 2.0 and sump should be... well just buy the sump to match the block so I guess 2.0 too
Re: 2litre block
and then the 1.8 head. which would say same size block just bigger bore mayb

Re: 2litre block
we'll just have to check piston bore size to the size of the combustion chamber in the head to make sure it matches

Re: 2litre block
the 1.8 and 2 litre use the same sump gasket and sump, but on the abf and later 9a's they use an alloys sump rather than a pressed steal one
