mk2 golf 1.8 PB digi Alternator

As above...think mine has a bearing issue...anyone got a replacement or suggest a place to get it refurbed?

just go to reemars and say u need a alternator for a early mk3 gti. i know its a mk2 but there abit useless, or take yours in and say u need one the same as that and they will find it. cant remember how much my old one cost.... came of a bmw though

Theres a place in lincoln that put me new bearings in one for my old 1.3 for £15, can't for the life of me remember the name though, you wanna go on yell.com and put in auto electricians and get some prices for getting new bearings fitted. I have a spare PB alternator that needs some bearings you can have for free if you wanna take that one in to be repaired so you can keep driving yours and just swap it over at your leisure, only a 15min job swapping them

was that on the little industrial estate at the bottom end of monk's road? i went there a few years ago to get a fire damaged alternator tested

dont worry bud...I'm not even 100% sure its the bearing... Just a rattle around 2500rpm thats coming from the water pump/alternator area

cam belt has been done less than 1000miles ago and it was doing it before that anyway ... I dont know, I'm compleatly stumped and Its really doing my head in coz at 60 in 5th its constant lol

I used that place off monks road to get my starter motor rewound on an old yankee police car i had.Im sure it was called Prolek.

Oh and if it was me id open it up get the numbers off the bearing.Get some from TMS and do it ones self

You could do that, I've never had one apart before but I think they're only made up of a few parts so it can't be that hard
