I use Armorall which is pretty good if you keep feeding it in.
My old man used to but now swears by this stuff:

Seems to be on offer too, worth a shot at that price. Caistor will back me up on how much of a clean freak my dad is on his car.

Yer, he is nuts. When he got the merc he drives now he refused to park it anywhere other than in his garage until the weekend when he could wash it.
Anyhow, if they are way past it you can use a heat gun to get some colour back and then back to black. Check out this dude

i use black shoe polish on mine. only done it once so far but it lasts really well.
i used morrisons own brand. the liquid stuff that comes in a small bottle with a sponge on the top.

If you have dull faded or greyes plastics get some peanut butter(non crunchy) and rub it in with a rag,the nuts natural oils rejuvinate the plastics. It doesnt run ar streak and it tastes great
Im not taking the piss btw it works great ive done it myself.

Was thinking about doing that as read it somewhere, they also said to use a heat gun to warm the trim up then rub the show polish in, might have to give that a go.

I would be a bit worried about this as when i parked the car up and come back that people would be licking the trims

I use the armorall wipes, or autoglym bumper care, works as well inside as it does making black trim black again

Yeah but it does the trick
Also on some of the weird plastics like the spoiler on a Mk3,linseed oil is good,It brings it back to a nice shine.

Some very interesting methods.
I find back to black tends to rub in then rub out unless you really really cake it on..
im tempted to take the door trim strips off and the mudguards

I would say try linseed oil.

I have seen a report on this and it looked pretty good.

Re: Plastic Trim In Need Of New Life
working at halfords ive realised alot of the back to blacks dont work myself
best one ive found is a gel by turtle wax. once on your not topping it up but it does take longer to put on than a spray. black bottle small blue writing. as me in grimsby halfords if u wanna know.
Try to avoid anything silicon based unless it definately works.
The silicon stops other products applyed sticking once its been coated a few times (hense why they remove it when they paint over plastics!) so i always say if it s a non treated plastic then clean well with the wipes you get to clean your hands of oil... if you know what i mean
But yea the boot polish does work but can run in the rain if not buffed up properly!!!
the halfords one suggested above its alright too btw
