Card left at Grimsby College

Hi all, someone left a card on my windscreen today so figured I'd join up to the site.

My name's Simon and I'm a student at GIFHE studying to be a mechanic. I've got two VAG cars at the mo, an Audi Coupe GT5S (the toy/project) and a VW B5 Passat 1.9TDI (the daily driver).

When I get a bit of spare time I'll start a project thread for the Coupe, there's loads to do on it! But to get you started here's a couple of pics...





Other than these 2, I also used to own a Mk2 Golf GTI, but sold it last year to a mate who's turning it into a track toy.

Haha, it was shoozy who left the card on the car as we where having a look around it in college workshop. I have a very very soft spot for the old coupe's as my dad had one when i was younger. Yours is actually in good condition considering its age. What are your plans for it? O yeah forgot to ask will you be joining us for the next meet? And what make are the alloys on it?

@DubaHolic - Plans for this are to get the mechanicals sorted first. Rear brakes need adjusting, fueling is way off, exhaust manifold is blowing, the list goes on and on. Bodywork wise it's missing some trim and got a a few dents and some surface rust but nothing that needs major attention just yet.

I'm up for coming to the next meet, is it at the Jug and Bottle?

As far as I can tell the wheels are Speedline SL423's, think they were an optional extra when new.

Club stickers are always good, I'll get a couple from you at the meet.

@lemski - once I've sorted the major mechanical issues I'll be plenty happy to embarress a 16v

@ShoozY - cheers for the card, the Coupe seems to have gone down well in the workshop, even the tutors were saying they liked it!

an audi coupe (or perf a quattro) is one of the few cars i would swap my golf for. absolute motoring perfection

si, i am hopefullyu sorting my fuelling today so the valver will be in workshop. good to see your being positive for when your coupe is left for dust :p

lemski, should warn you my exhaust is spitting flames, wouldn't want your little car getting burned as I pull in front...

pbv you havnt seen minee spit flames si. but we will have to see wont we, al invite a lancer aswell or a ep3 type r just to make it interesting

Liam it isnt all about the racing, at the end of the day Si is rolling around i what i would class as one of my all time fav 80's car and i really wouldnt care less who was faster i would still say his car is a legend in the rolling

What you need to do now Si is start to slowly make it into a rally s1 quattro, that wuld be cool as fu*k, the only problem i could see is they where short wheel base, nothing an angle grinder wouldnt sort out

If you need any help with your car then email Map-Tech in the Garage section as they are very clued up when it comes to Audi's plus the fact the owner is driving a B5 RS4 which is cool

not all quattro rally cars are short wheel base just the s1 and short sport,
they started as the lwb with blomquist mikola and mutton behind the wheel, than changed to the short, then changed to the s1 as the un winged version was dangerous
