Chrisss's rusty peice of sh*t
Copied for mk2 oc
Decided to re-do the start of this thread
but with a little more detail and with how the car started
heres some pics of when i first bought the car, for the sum of 450gbp
but the car didnt stay standard for long
fitted a set of these
then started to clean up the bay abit,
forgot to take a before pic
so heres after
then the front got abit of a facelift
single wiper conversion, a new black splitter and some clear indicators
after having sh*t loads of problems with the pooberg carb
i decided to splash the cash for one of these
a nice shiney brand new weber
then it all went tits up
a faulty earth on my coil led to it setting fire to its self and all the wirring loom surrounding it
after going through my options
i decided to go for the msot complicated, time consuming and expensive one,
after scouring ebay for all of 10minutes i bought my self a new engine
so stripping the car of its old lump was in order

Re: Chrisss's rusty peice of sh*t
Starting to come together and remebered to take some pics again
the bay all primed up, realy not happy with the quality of it tho, but i dont have the time or money to re-do it just yet
went to the stealers and unloaded my self of a fair few quid
spent most of yesterday preping and painting,
but did manage to fit my track rod ends
im using a mk2 steering rack with mk2 track rods and a mk3 subframe and wishbones so used these mk4 rod ends,
theyre slightly longer than mk2/3 ones and fit the wider track perfectly
im off to the garage today
so watch this space

Re: Chrisss's rusty peice of sh*t
decided to get rid of the fusty old person smell in my car and cleaned the interior
payed special attention to the rear as i no longer have rear seats
my neighbours thought i was rather strange polishing the inside of my car with autoglym
washer bottle now resides in the boot
i didnt realise how noisy a washer wiper motor was 8O
and i threw a bucket of water over the outside for good measure

Re: Chrisss's rusty peice of sh*t
finally done some work to the golf after getting it back on the road
havent took very many pics
but heres a few
if any one saw my old rear bumper youll know why ive had to paint up a new one
so here it is (it only took me a year to get round to it )
whilst i had my bumper off i found this inside my rear quater 8O
it looks like 20year old tiger seal
Then got a mate of mine to weld in a harness bar, made form MSA spec CDS, so thyre now securley mounted
i no longer have the tow rope there and the harnesses have been cut and attatched to MSA requirements
I went back to 1995 and got me some ICE, genuine 90's sub and amp
havnet made a faulse floor for them yet
Then some pics form Viva skegg vegas
was a good little outing
on the right in this pic
and on the left in this one
thats it for today
might get some more done now its off the road agian
