mk4 1.4 stalling at junctions
Just woundering any encounted this problem before on a 1.4. The fault codes it has come up with are.
00519 intake manifold presure sensor (g71) open circuit/short with ground intermittent.
00525 o2 sensor (g39) signal too low low intermittent.
00282 Throttle postion actuator (v60) output open intermittent.
I was along the lines of breather valves but any ideas welcome thanks.

Re: mk4 1.4 stalling at junctions
first thing that comes to mine irispective of coades is a cleaner throtle body, cleaner intake and when was last service including spark plugs, (similar predicament with mine but havent had chance to vagcom it,give it a thorough service with engine flush and used an oil aditive to healp the piston rings seal up, you may find that oil has passed through into the combustion chanber and soild the sparkplug, check my build thread for images of what im talking about) another thing to consider is your timing belt,as the tensioners are bastards for failing but this is a long shot, infact it all is to be hones lol, keep us updated with any progress you make but im sure some1 els may be able to point you closer in the right direction
good luck
good luck

thanks for that. Its not mine its my old mans mate. not sure on service history. i did notice there was some oil around the air filter housing and the throttle bodie. The buterfly seems free so doubt if its carboned up. Thanks again.

on the oily throtle body mate id recomend a clean,i used a toothbrush and wd40 (not the recomended thing to use but it did the trick for me,note if u do use it then expect plenty of white smoke from the back end on start up) youd be beter of if you could get the throtle body off the engine so you can give it a propa soaking, brush down and clean up with a bit of rag, also check the oil breather pipe that is fed into the airbox, this also sometimes clogs up with oily debries etc

Re: mk4 1.4 stalling at junctions
imo,if its breathing related then id give throtle body a clean along with breather hoses and work from there, if its not cured then dont wory too much as a bit of maintainance hase been done by this point if u catch my drift
