the www.map-tech.co.uk CADDY OF DOOM
We've bought a 99 caddy 1.9 diesel for road trip fun.
It is a little battered but runs really well so we are happy enough. It isn't going to be a major project but I thought as its a dub people might like to see progress.
TThe van has had a bit of a knock so is wearing a seat inca front end in a different shade of red.
First job was sort the blowing exhaust which we de-cattedwhile we were at it. It has a great rasped at a certain rev.
This weekend I took a grinder to the rust as there are plenty of scabs. Also stuck a load of ghetto sounddedeadening in the back too.
More later.

Always hated these vans, having said that anything is worth a punt just for a laugh
Re: the www.map-tech.co.uk CADDY OF DOOM
i think you should rat it.
would bring more attention to it so you can advertise maptech better.

Don't be a water Sam, they are ace little vans, just been hit with ugly stick.
Martin, rating is a good idea but I don't think gareth is too keen.
We are going as scene as possible with this one.

i think rat rod style with the company name written across the side in old style lettering, brown rusty body work, red steelies with a chrome center cap and white wall tyres.
would get more attention then having mint body work slammed on some alloys.more attention means more buisness

We are going either Matt or satin black , fluro 17's with matching deals and a gentle drop if I can convince gareth

i think you should let the fellow dubbers vote on what you should do.

Yey another van owner. Just lowered the front of mine tonight (around 90mm I think), engine skid tray is now about an inch from the floor. Was hopeing to flip the rear axle friday night but now have no access to the workshop until next week.

gareth is really against lowering it so it is a bit of a struggle. He definately doesnt want the axle flipping but i am trying to talk him round to the lowering plates which i think are 60mm. a kit or coulovers on the front and i think it would still be very useable but look and hopefully drive so much better.
been on a road trip this morning and the sound deadening in the back has really made a difference. i used self adhesive roof flashing - exactly the same as sound deadening but a fraction of the price. Used just about a full roll which i bought a while back from wicks for about a tenner.

sorry, missed your post. i really want to deck it but gareth is dead against the idea.
the van is now matt black...
bad opic the wheels look red but are orange. the other pair were supposed to be green but they ran out so they suggested a custom metallic purple powder instead. i may post a pic of that at some point. i may just get them re coated!
