is the forum too complicated?
been hearing from a few prople that they dont post much on here because the forum is too big and complicated to navigate.
Given we are still small in number would it be better if we had far fewer sections. say from the main page have a projects forum, one for dub chat, one for random shite and a classified?
thoughts please. it would be nice to see this place active again

Sounds like a plan!
I do think it is a bit of a chore to get into dub rides through around 4 other sub forums lol!
Also if it does get changed, can someone change the BCD header to the all white background one? My OCDness is going mad lmao

I agree dave but has only a few people now use the forum it may be too late to get the forum back to how it started

and how about a PM sent out to all members a week before a monthly meet, may jog a few peoples memories? Might get us a bigger turn out!

We could say aboutlittle tgings that need sortin but manly sight needs simplifying and generate more members posting so the site can tickover and grow and not slip into a disused site.
Meet turn outs will always vary, location needs to be changed. Some more interesting things need to be chucked in. campin was a good idea. It never went further though.

Re: is the forum too complicated?
small forums always slow down in the summer months as people are busy, whether its working, going to shows , working on there cars etc..... , its not just this forum, other local forums are the same, but this is busier!! , i agree that it is all too clustered at the min, whne i get a spare hour i will try and slim it down a little, but as kai set the lay out as it is id rather him adjust it to a revised version???
like i said all forums slow down this time of year, although the massive ones you wont notice due to the huge amounts of members on there always posting, youll never know if 200 people are on holiday or busy, but on a forum of 100 you will notice if 5 arent posting as much!!
i think the background colour and all the blackness of the forum could do with changing if im honest as its too much like another local forum , i think a diffo colour scheme and possibly slightly diffo shade of header too might help feshen things up along with the diet.

Re: is the forum too complicated?
We've gone green lol. Good work!
I will have a chat about the forum diet. In the meantime how to the people want things to be?
My thoughts, there are plenty of national forums with plenty of tech help so we don't really need to compete. If someone has a question it could go in a vw related forum I think .
I think vw chat, bcd rides for build threads, random shiz, classified.. or have a classified as a sub forum in vw chat and another in random shiz.
What do others think?

Re: is the forum too complicated?
I think it would be good to give the forum background a military theme dues to it being bomber county? Nato greens, Black stencil text etc.
And as for the dub rides kinda section,.. how about calling it the hangar? like where you store planes (bomber county spin on things lol!
Dont mean to sound like im intruding on your lots ideas since i havent been here long!

Dont worry jord, I like the hanger idea. I think the friend and foe function isn't used enough to be kept. The guides should staycos not everyone goes on the bigger forums

Re: is the forum too complicated?
tbh what is the freinds and foes things ment to be as we should all just be a big dub family and shunt have it broadcasted that we are only rlli interested in certain freinds and such like..
and tbh the green is a bit in yer face but it works well for my eye thingy as its the ryt coloured background for me to see things properly lol,...
i'm liking the changes so its good to see the interest again and hopefully it will get more people active on here
