My polo is ruining my life!

I have had my polo for about 4-5 months, during this time i have had about 2 weeks worth of driving out of it..
Most recently me gearbox chewwed itself on the M6 which cost me £300 to tow back to lincoln, then £741 for the gearbox re-furb, today i got it back for the garage and the ABS and Brake warning lights are on, and the engine is not ticking over properly (it keeps dropping revs and then shaking lots) , also my exhaust sounds really meaty. I had a word with the garage and they got it on diagnostics which said it was running rich, and came up with some fault codes about the brakes, which they reset but the lights remained on.. I have recently had new discs pads and ABS pump and the car was working fine before i sent it in to them. They said they are going to have a word with an electrics guy they know and see what he thinks.

Im just so pissed off, ive now spent £3200 on this car (which i bought for £1100) and only driven it for 2weeks.
Can anyone help, give me suggestions of things to check, etc etc?
Should i blame the garage for the faults as the whole front end of the cars been off?

If the new problems have been as a result of this garage doing work on your car then they should repair them free of charge. If they start trying to charge you for it then give Consumer Direct or Trading Standards a ring, they'll be able to give you all the advice you'll need.

Yes liam, Thanks for your advice. The downpipe gasket should be on, I suplied it with the car, and gave him verbal and written instructions about it too haha

The garage are deneying all responsibility due to the face the car wasnt in one peice when it arrived there and so they say i cannot prove it was their wrong doing, Which if im honest is what i would say in their position.

I have since kagarooo'ed it down to MG Raw Vw specialist in lincoln who can fix anything, and asked them to sort it out, Which means it will be sorted. Just at a high cost. I dont care now though, i just want the thing on the road.

Thanks Si, but i dont think i have a leg to stand on against them..

I knew MG Raw would come through.

The Gearbox place had plugged my ABS in poorly, And had streched wires so much that there wasnt a connection to the lambda sensor, As well as a brake hose needing replacing the bill came to £100 which im chuffed with as im now on the road again! Smile

Thanks for listening to my sob story guys! Hopefully there wont be any more problems and i can get on with my plans for the car!

the alfa wheels on ebay are only 15 and the horrid design. the ones i got last night are the far cooler ones with 5 rings in them, think they are cloverleaf if you google that. they are only 16" though.

have some 17" oz but they are poor condition.

also got a set of 18" new style rs4 in 5x100

out of interest, what did you bid on the monza's? i sold them last night outside ebay for £220

no i agreed 220 at the hull show but left them on ebay incase the buyer let me down. ebay bidding was at 310. the buyer wanted to see what they would sell for, he stuck in a 2000 bid and they went to 1500 so assume the previous high bidder was a scammer. or they REALLY wanted them!

you should have let me know - would have gladly let you have them for 200 bud
