Howdo folks, my names Alan and I live in Bardney (about 10 miles east of Lincoln).
Currently rolling a 96 Audi A4 2.6 V6 Quattro (cos it was cheap and it sounds awesome!), have a 1989 Mk2 Jetta TX project car and am breaking 3 Mk3 Golfs!

No, engine I have for the Jetta is a 2 litre 16v 9a out of a Passat, but will be running carbs (planning on about 180bhp).

Only got bonnet pins cos I'm too tight to pay Audi's price for a new bonnet release cable!!

ma mtes got an abf on bike carbs in his mk2 but its off the road sadly. cant wait to see a build thread on this jetta.

Might take a while, been off the road for 2 years and it hasn't progressed much. Keep spending money on other things rather than on bits for it. Will dig out some old pictures when it was on the road and some of how it sits now......

are yours not metal undernneith them colour coded arch covers, or havee your original arches been cut away to fit them others? just refibre glass them in a better blace.

Front arches will be done before fitting and I gotta replace back arches so they'll be done then.
Not going to be running arches so no ghetto arch rolling here
Been there and done that, cracked paint and all!!

My 1st dub, Mk2 Jetta GTi 8v on Weitec 40 drop and 16s - as u can see the arches weren't pretty (in fact the car was pretty rough)..

arch roller will work properly, i like the white though, i think some wide 14s and rolled arches dropped to the deck, but that would be if it was mine, haha. it looks to be a good base from what i can see though

The white one is long gone - scrapped
Inner wings were rotten where bonnet hinges bolt, both sills were rotten and it had a tap on the n/s rear corner which ripped the boot floor away from the chassis leg.

Its all smoothed in, so no rolling lol, just grinding out

ghetto rolling works fine on ghetto neg cars its all good if done with a bit of heat and patience lol

its all good with an arch roller, just didnt have one to hand

but we still got a good enuf outcome dint we its all gud

thats true mate, they havnt turned out too bad at all. backs need finishing though but the drivers side is pretty much perfect.
