have you considerd an internal leak whereby the coolant is leaking into the combustion chanber and coming out as steam in the exhaust..... thats what used to happen to my zr but wouldnt realy expect it from a polo engin as its a difarent type of setup compared to the good old k series lump a sh*t

Strange one cuz normally when the head gasket has gone between the cylinder and the coolant channel the compression in the engine normally pressurizes and boils the coolant pretty quickly...

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
basically you can check this using the modis at college. It should be able to see what is going on inside each cylinder and check if what is getting in there. Will you be bringing it in this week? If so then we will help you sort out why you are loosing the coolant but the must be something seriously wrong to be loosing that much coolant in one week.
You say that there is black smoke coming out the back when you start it, surely if water was getting into the cylinders you should be getting white smoke????? Did you check to see if there is any moisture in the spark plug holes???

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
look for something called k-seal,i used it on my last car when my bore sleevs started leaking(it shouldnt hapen this way with your engine). basicaly lubricates all coolant chanels, anti corosive treatment for metal and ruber and can be mixed with any coolan(would sugest having 50/50 mixture) and it like settles in places wher there is a depression of pressure if that makes scence. note it is not a gaurantied permanent fix but it has worked for the majority of users.
screw it,heres a link to what it dose:
http://www.k-seal.co.uk/
If you do buy it then be sure to have a coolant mixture in the system,iv got some halfrauds ready mix stuff left over that u can have but youl need more to fill your cooling system cappacity and id buy it of flebay, its cheaper

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
there is a chance of warping the head like but as long as u makesure you have sufficient fluids then you should be orite, not like you drive very spirited alot of the time so just make sure ur cars got fluids, halfords for thecoolant(use trade card) and ebay for k-seal

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
I have just been thinkng about this problem again and thought about some other stuff, you said that when you take the oil filler cap off you notice that there was some mayo on it and this has happened twice and your collant seems to be going down???? Dont want to be the put a downer on it but that would suggest that yoou might already have a warped head or a crack somewhere in it? Have you looked at the end of your exhaust and see if there is excessive water/moisture in it? I know this sounds stupid but also smell the vapour coming out and if you can smell anit-freeze then this would be a very good indication that the coolant is getting into the combustion chamber.
Have you also left the car running until it has got up to temp and the rad fan kicks in? Then check all the hoses.
I would defo try to get some K seal asap as this matter will only start to get worse and could cause major damage if it is a crack in the head?

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
Yes you would, which costs about a tenner along with the rocker gasket. So its spend £20 or have your engine overheat and shit itself whilst on the way to college costing a few hundred quid?
If all is well you will have replaced your head gasket, if not dont bother with the new gasket and get the engine out asap

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
Well i asked the guy at college he said £28 just for head gasket.... and it doesnt over heat the pressure in the cooling system stays the same so it aint loseing or gaining pressure

Re: I got a serious problem :D again
yeh the problem you have is your doin a head in college, which means every 5minutes a tutor will have to see if its going okay, as if you mess that up you are stuck at college and the polo wont be going nowhere either. just depends who you speak to and if barry lets it in to be done.

Yeah liam is rite i was just about to say this, some of teachers would be fine with you doing this and some would be rite gits about it and say no. I would just ask Brain stright away and tell him the situation and explain your worried that the car will blow up if you dont sort this problem asap
