brakes!!!!!!!!!

got the mrs a 97 (i think) diesel golf. no idea if calipers off any other models will fit and dont know disc size and car's not here. they are solid though.

need the front calipers anyway. can anyone help?

i think they are 239mm.

I've got a pair of front mk2 gti 8v calipers going spare mate, they should fit OK, my car has the same calipers and I've run solid and vented discs with them

Got them half way done! One of the calipers has a split seal but my mate has a good one i can use hopefully!

Aaah crap,sorry about that,never looked at the seals if im honest,i was happy to get them off and big brake on lol.

no bother. to be honest i would have just fitted them but i've done a bit of a deal with a mechanic mate - he's sorting the brakes in exchange for my koni adjustables. sadly he likes things to be right!

Unfortunatley im one of them anal mechanic types that likes to do stuff right(Much to Adi's annoyance )
The brakes work perfect and never had any fluid loss out of the seals so i would say they will be fine.Although for the sake of a few quid id wangh a new seal in it.

He kind of did. They are 15 years old, minimum so approaching the end of their days i'd say although fully working at the minute. I don't have a lot of time on my hands so would have ended up paying him to do it anyway.

He's actually fitted the fronts to his nissan bluebird!

I didn't realise the seals were so cheap. Where do you get them from? Gsf?

Yeah seal kits are for nothing.This is what you want.They arnt expensive from VW but GSF will do them too
