Re: Mk2 Build Thread
Got the new exhaust on, massive improvement, sounds good and isnt stupidly loud any more. Doesn't sit exactly straight but near enough so guess everyones right about that lol.
Exhaust is fitted just down from the manifold backward instead of just getting the backbox changed, its a cherrybomb stainless, will get pics later on and some of you will probably see it at college anyway.

Re: Mk2 Build Thread
Not a bad price really, i saw your exhaust, had to stop and take a second look as was gob smacked to see a nice system on it now. There is a way to get the exhaust sitting stright, you have to strighten the sytem from where it connects just after the rear axle which, i have done this now and it has strighten mine.
I forgot to give you some stickers for your car today, you need to remind me as i keep forgetting. Where are the pics for this exhaust????

Re: Mk2 Build Thread
I want it off yeah, but need to buy a bumper without one first so i can swap it because i use it for a crosser trailer, and there would be a big messy hole where its been cut out wrong and split the plastic

Re: Mk2 Build Thread
Changing my interior to black, as its a shit looking light grey and cream and doesnt match the mk5 seats, got my a and b pillars done a while ago, but my c pilars and rear speaker trim came earlier so got that fitted, looks so much better, got a black carpet to fit aswell when i get enough time.
Old trims:
c pillar fitted:
with speaker trim:
Small chanes but makes a massive difference when looking through the rear window.

Re: Mk2 Build Thread
Not done anything drastic in a while, apart from had an oil change last thursday and a general service.
decided to tidy up the rear bumper as i had to re attach it to the iron anyway so got a few pics of that:
Looks really solid under there and so does the rest of the car underneeath the trims, am pleased with the state of the shell.
Not in bad condition, could have done with shotblasting but a wire brush and hammerite was all i could afford, ah well better than nothing
Had its MOT this morning, and the car sailed through, not 1 fault or advisory, really buzzing with that
Few decent pics i got from my parking "space" at college:

Re: Mk2 Build Thread
Long time since my last update, cars had a few changes. I'l list whats been done that i dont have any pics of:
Fitted a gti electric pop up aerial
stripped the carpets and sealed / treated all rust underneath, wasnt alot atall to be fair.
sorted alot if shite wiring.
re fitted my seats and rear bench propperly as whoever originally fitted them did a shocking bogde.
Brand new gear linkage and overhaul kit fitted
new stereo lol, needed a black working one insteaf of chavvy silver
Now to the pics:
Alfa GT wheels haha
New Gear Linkage
Wondered why my gear lever was all over the place, couldnt have changed it sooner
old carpets getting removed
New Boot Carpet
Front and Rear carpet fitted, just need matching doorcards and headlining
Re furbed RA's !
insides
before -----
after ----- ( ignore centre cap, new ones on the way )
New big bumpers, immaculate and original VW £45 bargain.
Just need the money for spraying them and fogs before they go on.
Few random pics:
Also have an ITG filter to fit at some point.

Re: Mk2 Build Thread
Been a very long time since i posted, but alot of change coming soon, been running the car and not done alot lately except a service and another mot which it wen through perfectly. Not long after i got a vac leak and had no idle unless holding revs, fixed it and 2 weeks later it came back, replaced a carb manifold gasket that solved it and then it came back again, did nothing for a week and its gone again for now lol.
Fitted some original doorcard speaker pods but no pics yet
most recent pics
now for the good stuff, picked up a set of mk2 g60 hubs, carriers and calipers for 150 off ebay, got a full refurb kit to fit to them but only just got them back from powdercoat. also bought the new servo and master cylinder to suit
and then this
2.0l audi 80 8v block, 1.8 gti head, 1.8 gti gearbox, piper fast road cam, silicone hoses, k&N maf filter all new auxillaries alternator, clutch, crank seal etc
done only 2000 miles in the car since its last mot in oct 2011 and was used for shows.
bargain at 500 quid, looking to fit all this in the summer and have the car off the road for a bit. plan on getting a stainless manifold to finish my zaust system and a few other bits to try an push the bhp up a bit.
