Clutch problem...
I am having trouble with my clutch. Basically the pedal is not returning to the top after being pressed. It stays about ¾ of the way down and moves freely within that range.
I can just manage to get it in gear, but it takes quite a lot of force and crunches badly. It seems as if it would be an issue with the pedal rather than the clutch itself however I am not familiar with clutches.
Any help is appreciated,
Ash

Have a look at your slave or master cylinder, could be that thats causing the problem or maybe the pedal itself like you said, not entirely sure there just a few suggestions

Also if it is cable then check that it hasnt stretched or kinked anywhere as this is also common. Also you will have to take off all the lower part of the dashboard hiding your padels and if you look directly upwards under your clutch you should be able to seewhere the wire feeds through onto the clutch pedel, this is where they are common for popping off the bracket or kinking the wire.
Let us know how yooou get on?

Re: Clutch problem...
Cheers guys, gonna go have a look at it tonight.
Its not the mat, taken that out and moved the pedal by hand a few times and it moves very freely.
Been told it could be an issue with where it passes through the bulkhead and that is something that I was told would need reinforcing in the near future (told this in about october last year) so could well be that.
Will let you know how I get on later.

This is also true about the bulkhead, they are thin and over time they flex everytime you please the pedel in and out to a point were it will start to crack and then give way. I would maybe start by looking here.
