MR H (road track car project)

well for a while now mr neg has been slowly getting sorted. well the bts i need for my new shell. now i have the shell sourced but are waiting for the person to sell some more parts so i can take it away.
this left me with sorting out parts that were needed. so a break down of the parts i need:

1x mk2 3door shell - sourced/ waiting to be picked up
2 x doors - sourced
2 x side windows - sourced
1 x boot - waiting to be welded
1 x boot glass - sourced
2 x front wings - sourced
2 x sil repairs - needed
2 x inner front arch repairs - needed
2 x rear arch repairs - needed
1 x sun roof metal panel - sourced
2 x bucket seats - sourced
2 x 3point harnesses - needed
1 x rollcage - awaiting price
1 x set of abf breaks - needed
1 x set of braided hoses - sourced
4 x vr6 wheels - needed/ subject to change
various exterier trim and interier trim - sourced
1 x paints n such - needed

well now thats out the way, i can get on with what has happened so far with the boot. (hopefully to be finished on tuesday)


starting to cut the number plate recess out. not window is already missing.

recess out. just need to take some metal to weld it up with. then skim some filler over it and jobs a peach.

today we did a bit more smoothing. me n martin decided that metal wasnt going to work as are welder ian has abondoned us for a job. the cheeck of it.
any way we soldiered on with a new idea. fibre glass .

and 1st 2 layers of fibreglass done. hopefully finished tomore and maybe primered. :/


its not far off what we set out todo really.

also raided daves trackcar of usfull things, need to cut some bits of his shell out to use as repair panels aswell, that will wait til another day though.

thats appauling,why didnt you just buy a smoothed boot like a normal person would.


i feel you should show people your attempt at cutting and welding a metal plate in.

I feel that people don't need to see that

i think its important that people see the build quality of these things.

i still say no cos its was a bit of a shable, could of maybe sorted it but i annt got the patience for that

today in the morning, me n martin finished the fibre glassin for my boot. now it needs filling, sanding, filling, sanding, filling, sanding and then primering. woop woop.

yeh mte no worries, gotta see if i can get some abf breaks n such for cheep.

well 1stly some long ovr due pictures.

the boot, needs alittle bit more work before i can start the skim of fillering and then spraying.


then as i decided it was soney i thought i'd sort the belly pan out.
flattened and got rid of the rust 1st, then primered several times.


then sprayed it the famous tornado red.




now i have also aquired something very special, but as of yet its just an idea and wont happen til my funds allow.

next to pick up is my bumpers and braided hoses, still waiting to hear back on the abf breaks.


so far i have done quite well on spending nothing, just working for parts etc.

yep and i have just got a 2litre bottom end with a clutch for free. just need to collect
