Re: ROCCYS ROCCO
little update for today...
i've got all my carpets and underlay out to take away the risk of it setting fire and as it was all out i decided to get rid or the underlay as its unnesecary weight so got rid of that and its also given me a chance to sort out some lazy messy wiring...
also got a picture of the dammage from the inside of the car.
and i've got a plate of steel cut out and in place wich fits and a little test drive went awsome as it felt like a brand new clutch again so its all ready for welding tomorow when dave brings the welder down ( cherz dave ) and back on the road again

Re: ROCCYS ROCCO
well appears i dint update this after the bulkhead failure so here goes as many terrible things have hapend since......
well dave braught down his welder and few hours later i got it welded up and sorted ( but not pictures atm ) so that was that job done just in time for me taking over the bosses bussiness for 3 weeks using my car for lugging around the stuff for work wich was a big task for the rocco but never the less it did me proud indeed ..... UNTILL......
the sunday before my last day using the rocco for work and my clutch went and started slipping wildly aswell as my bushes finally giving in after being badly worn since i baught the car so my steering and road holding was poor to say the least....
but my good freind martin came to the rescue with a spare clutch he had so bank holiday monday we set to changing the clutch wich came to problem of finding my car had a mk2 golf gti gearbox fitted to it instead of the driver box wich ment the clutch was slighlty different.. wich meant we had to then fit the driver box to suit the clutch i was given......
then the driveshafts didn't match so we then had to fit 90mm inner cv's wich were also donated to me by martin so got them on and the car was back together minus the clutch cable wich was yet to be dilvered as my clutch cable had eaten its self....
then the next day we get to my car and the wheel bearing had locked up overnight and fucked its-self so then my car was undrivable again untill the new wheel bearings come....
also i found a new full car set of pollybushes on ebay for a bargain price so i won them and started on fitting them wich came up with more problems of a nakered ball joint and a broken off captive nut in my chassis rail and a broken anti roll bar mount so recified that and got some bushes fitted......
but work will commence for the third weekend at the end of this week with hopefully good news to follow and some pictures when i find my phone charger....
sorry for the massive essay for those who had the time to read this but i had many things to report on ...

Re: ROCCYS ROCCO
and an update for todays work.....
well its been a job thats been wanting to be done since buying the car. the job being getting my wingmirrors off and painted up red again as the'de faded to a pink and white colour and looked gash.. so here goes with some pictures after sanding priming and painting them up and its made the car looks loads better imo as they were really leeting the appearance down....
picture with one wing mirror all painted up and ready for removal of the tape and ready to be fitted back onto the car and other wing mirror as it was before sanding and painting...
driver side wing mirror back on the car
and a pic with both mirrors fitted and the car looking loads better for it

Re: ROCCYS ROCCO
another little update on the rocco's reliability......
driving to louth on monday and got nerli 3 quarters of the way there and i got some warning lights pop up on the dashboard so i did the typical thing and ignore them for a few minutes untill i got a hefty smell come thru into the car ( at this point just arriving in louth ) the smell being the sort u get when things i.e engine get overhot to the point of loosing allot of water and oil and steam and everything so thaught i'de let my car lay for a few hours and let it cool whilst the colling sytem does nothing but chug and bubble and boil my water then drove it to my sisters...
got to it the next day it took forver to start and ran like wank then broke down in town with a dead battery so openned the bonnet to find the fan belt was missing so a tow was needed...
so now i no y it overheated and battery flatted i got a new fan belt fitted it and it lives again but not quite as well as it use to so think maybe i overheated a little more than i first thaught and possibly wounded a few things allon the line :/
but hey ho i'll fill it up with oil and water again and see how far it gets me tonight

Re: ROCCYS ROCCO
what a faliure,
you didnt even open the bonnet after warning lights and a smell of imminent death.
theres a good possibility that the head gasket has gone
and the worst part is it was completely avoidable and entirely your own fault.
