Cheers Liam
Well here we go,Potter has gone for a few weeks now for respray.
Hired a trailer for £40 and roped me dad in to tow him(4.0 pulling power)
Sat nav took us on a magical mystery tour but we got there with no rain and no hiccups so all is good!
Daz@Imageworx is going to post pics of the process and email them to me so i will update the thread as i get them.

I will remember that for next time Dave.As im using me old mans 4.0 Jeep it's costing more in fuel than it is hiring the bloody trailer ha ha.Trailer hire is £40+vat for the full day which isnt too bad tbh.
and yeah i will be pleased to get the weekend at work out the way so i can get my hands on it ha ha

Well boy's here it is.Daz sent me some pics on wednesday but i didnt post them up as i wanted to get it back and get it built up 1st.
Here are the pics he sent me.
This is it when it arrived.
This is it after a few hours of VERY carefull reassembly!
I have a few trim clips and bits and bobs to buy as the old ones arnt a perfect fit which just wont do!
Still got silly amounts to do but i have tomorrow off work so i can get another 14+ hours on him.
One main job to do is drop him again as i raised him up to help the bodyshop lads!
I can't recommend Daz enough. If you want anything doing his details are on the sticker on Potters rear screen pic.He is very helpful and down to earth.
I will update as i go along.
As you can imagine i have a permanent chubby atm.

that looks like glass! looks really good (apart from the dodgy number plate relocation! )
i dont envy you building it back up though - i'd be terrified of scratching it.
when my mk2 came back from the bodyshop last year i trimmed my hedge before i put it down the drive!

Cheers Dave,im pleased with the job and it's a VERY slow job building it back up!Im also scared to death of scratching it ha ha
Just out of interest, where would you have put the numberplate? Please dont say a stick on one or a jap import one off to one side of the bumper

Re: Potter!MK3 Golf(Engine build time!!)Bought another mk3 too :P
Right then, little update.I have been very slowly building Potter back up.
I havnt had much time on it due to me doing this Vitara for a mate at work.
Jacking it up,disc brake conversion on the rear,a lift kit, extending the propshaft and steering box etc
Anyway back to Potter
When i got him back from the bodyshop i noticed a few clips were buggered so rather than use old i bought some new ones for the gutter trims, scuttle panel and side trims.
I then recovered the headlining in cream suede.I hated every second of this task i cant do it,i will never do it again and i fucked it up royally.
This is the finished product. Its wank crap shit and i now need another headliner which i will take to get retrimmed by someone who knows what theyre doing(as you can tell i get mardy when i cant do something!)
It will do for now until i fetch another one in the next month.
I then had to deal with all the grubby interior plastics.I was gunna go down the retrimmed route with these, but after failing at the headlining im going to take a new set to get recovered at the retrimmers when i take the headlining.
Next up was making a start on the very dusty interior.I stripped all the carpet out, took the spare wheel out and the side panels etc.The used a APC to clean it up,then gave it all a good polish up.
Just got to reroute the wiring so it is neater but i will do that before i put the back seats back in.
I also recieved my new boot struts courtesy of Mr Gash
Because the tailgate is heavy now the original one blew while the bodyshop man was working underneath it.I laughed,he probabaly didnt lol.
I then realised that i never sorted the wiring out to the number plate lights now that they are in the rear bumper. So i whipped the bumper off CAREFULLY,marked the hole out, drilled it,painted it and fitted a wallace and grommit.
Wahay they work!
Thats it for now

Lovely stuff gaz.. its coming along really well. Im impressed with the quality of work. dont worry about the headlining, i get pissed off when i can do stuff too. It wont be too hard to get another one from somewhere..
Really impressed with the roof stripes or whatever they are called. they really finish it off compared to when i saw it last.
Keep up the good work man.
P.s interested to see what your boot turns out like

Right this weekend has been all about detailing.
I was very happy with the spray job but there was a few buffer trails left from non perfect finishing with the mop.
After much deliberation i decided to get someone in to give it a tidy up as i was too much of a girl to attack it with a rotary.
Soooo i got in touch with Adi @ http://www.deep-shine.co.uk/ who it turns out lives a couple of streets away from me and as his missus was off out on the sunday he said he woulp pop round.
He said it would take around 6 hours to remove the hologramming and then i can finish it off with poorboys black hole jetseal 109 and then top it off with Dodojuice supernatural.
So i got up on a drizzly sunday @6am and gave it a wash and started taping it off for him.
Adi came at 8am and checked the thickness of the pain which was very good apparently. Then got to work.
Heres a rough picture of the buffer trails
This is the tailgate after one pass with 3m ultrafina(it now looks even blackerer!)
This is the car fully corrected but with no protection.
Time for me to get to work!
This is what t looked like after i stuck all my stuff on it.Got to wait 24 hours and wash with the tbm and give another coat of supernatural.
I can't recommend Adi enough, have a look at his website he did me a good deal for the correction and i would definatley use him again!

Oh i forgot i bought a STORM developments single wiper as ive always fancied one(when they were hip) so i managed to get one fairly cheap so got it,wanged it on wondering if it would look wankypants or not.
Ive decided i really like it.Most probably wont but then its not your car so ner
Will be getting a smooth arm to cover it up in black though.
